ThinkPad toughness, ready for another round

Lenovo ThinkPads have a reputation for robust builds and great keyboards. Here they come refurbished: used laptops that experts have tested, cleaned and repaired where needed, then sold with a warranty, for up to 40% less than new. From the light T480s to the powerful X1 Extreme, every device includes:

  • Min 12-month warranty. Cover well beyond the first weeks.
  • 30-day free trial. Check the keyboard and screen at home.
  • Free returns and delivery included. No surprise costs.
  • Flexible payment methods. Choose what suits you.

Who they are for

  • Business travellers. A T490s or T480s is slim, light and made for a laptop bag.
  • Hybrid teams. A T14 G2 covers meetings, documents and daily tasks.
  • Mobile professionals. The X1 Yoga G6 flips into a tablet for notes and presentations.
  • Developers and engineers. A P14s G1 or X1 Extreme G3 brings workstation-class performance.

How to pick your ThinkPad

Line

T is the dependable business classic. X1 is the slim premium line. P is for workstation tasks. The Yoga models fold over for tablet use.

Generation

The G number marks newer models, as with the T14 G2 and X1 Yoga G6. Older models, like the T480s, are still capable for office use.

Processor

You will see Intel Core i5 and i7 chips in each listing. Pick i5 for everyday work and i7 where you multitask or run demanding software.

Screen size

14 inches is the sweet spot between portability and space. 15.6 inches, as in the X1 Extreme G3, gives a larger canvas.

Keyboard and trackpoint

ThinkPads are known for comfortable keyboards and the red trackpoint in the middle. If you type a lot, that is a real plus.

Condition

  • Premium: looks identical to new, works like new, battery holds at least 90% of the capacity of a new battery.
  • Excellent: looks like new, works like new.
  • Very Good: slight signs of wear, works like new.
  • Good: some signs of wear, works like new.

For Excellent, Very Good and Good, the battery holds at least 80% of the capacity of a new battery. A new battery option is available on some products.

The ThinkPad range at a glance

The T480s and T490s are slim, light business models, the T14 G2 is a more recent everyday option, the X1 Yoga G6 is the flexible two-in-one, and the P14s G1 and X1 Extreme G3 aim at demanding work.

Refurbished vs new

Going refurbished costs up to 40% less than new and gives a sturdy laptop a second life. According to refurbed’s calculation, a refurbished laptop saves on average about 357 kg of CO₂ (85% less) and 89% less electronic waste per device compared with a new one. refurbed’s calculation is verified by an independent third party, GutCert, in accordance with ISO 14040/44.

Refurbished vs second hand

A ThinkPad from a private seller is second hand: usually no warranty, no tested battery and an unknown history. Ours are checked by experts and sorted by condition.
